blog number 1
My earliest memory of literature in my life was when my mom used to read to me the Giving Tree. It was my favorite book when I was little and when I was able to read it myself, I would read it to my younger brother like I was a teacher. I loved flipping the pages over and showing him all the pictures as I read. It quickly became his favorite book as well. Recently I have been reading a lot of really good books. My whole summer was full of reading and I love it because books can teach you stuff that you sometimes don't get to experience for yourself in life. They give you foresight into the future and what life could be like. It takes you to other places that you might never think about going. I love being excited about reading. My favorite book is Redeeming Love. I can read that book about a thousand times and never get sick of it. Sometimes I forget just how much God loves me and this book shows me in a unique way that He never leaves me even if I think that He has disappeared from my life. I like that books have a different way of showing you things without directly coming out and saying it. Literature matters in a very big way to many people. A lot of people say that reading is boring but that's only because they haven't found the type of book they are interested in. Literature is a great way to reach out to people and it matters a lot to people and myself. Without literature, humans could be very dumb. It is how we learn and grow as people and a culture.
